"Going to the wood is going home." -John Muir
Down To Earth is about 40 acres of magical land located in Boone National Forest, on the Little South Fork River, near Big South Fork Recreation Area. We are forming a land trust and non profit organization dedicated to protection of this beautiful land as nature sanctuary, creation of "back to the land" retreat area, campground and festival grounds and hands-on learning center for skills of sustainable living.
As an off-the-grid nature retreat, we offer primitive camping, BiB (bed in the barn), a charming and fully equipped barn summer kitchen, spring water, bonfires, sweat lodge area, cave, nature walks, river fun, great hiking and neighborhood attractions (Lake Cumberland, Cumberland and Yahoo Falls, Picket State Park, natural bridges, horseback riding...)
We have two regular events a year: in spring- DowntoEarth Day Family Reunion (after Earth Day weekend-last weekend of April) and Log Daze Harvest Festival in fall (always 1st weekend of October.) The festival grounds are available for other events the rest of the year.

To all who came: GREAT THANKS for your presence and offerings. Special appreciations goes to those who helped with preparations and food and bonfires during the festival.
